This piece expresses the creative joy of God, and man’s parallel response.
In CS Lewis’s book, The Magician’s Nephew, Aslan, the Christ figure, sings the world into existence, and we read of something similar in the book of Job when “the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy”. The whole earth is brimming with beauty and order; functionality and delight. Man, who was “made in God’s image” finds himself daily moved to create in the same way that God did first; to bring order out of chaos, to sculpt beauty and usefulness out of raw materials. In so many ways each day, we “move like our Maker”.
